About
It was a coincidence that changed everything. When I was about ten years old, I opened my father’s cupboard one afternoon. What I found there was not just a camera – it was the beginning of a lifelong passion. The old, dusty Kodak Retina, which I discovered among stacks of paper and forgotten items, immediately aroused my curiosity. It was nothing special in my parents’ eyes, but for me it was the key to a whole new world. Since that moment, photography has accompanied me on my journey through life.

Born in South Africa, shaped by a landscape full of contrasts and beauty, my childhood was a constant dialogue between nature and urbanity. The camera became not just a tool, but a pair of glasses through which I viewed the world.
I have been living in Switzerland for more than 40 years. In everyday life and when travelling, I keep an open eye. I see stories that want to be told. The beauty I find in every corner makes me a photographer with a keen eye for the extraordinary. I have an insatiable affinity for beautiful things – be it the soft light of dusk, the striking architecture of a city or the fleeting expression on a face.
But my pictures are more than just the capture of aesthetic moments. They are an expression of empathy and the ability to engage with the world. As a person, I have many interests and am always on the lookout for new perspectives and stories. It is this curiosity, coupled with a deep understanding of the people and places I like to capture, that makes my work so unique.
